At the County Commission meeting on Wednesday, there were a few guests that were in attendance. Mary Rader from Air Med Care Network was there to explaining their membership program for the Air EVAC life flight program. Mrs. Rader explained that there are about 320 bases in 32 states that AirMedCare operates through. The company stays in connection with the local Fire Departments and Ambulance services if there is an emergency needing a landing zone, they work together to provide a safe, clear, zone for the helicopter to land to safely transport the patient to a medical facility for the proper care needed. The meeting then turned to Brian Aluise, a Regional Representative at the Governor’s office, to introduce himself and let the county commissioners and the county know that he is available if needed.
The meeting then proceeded with the action items on the agenda. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as well as the bills and purchases orders as presented were approved. The erroneous assessments, refund of erroneous assessments and real estate divisions as presented by the assessor was approved. The budget revision for the offices of Sheriff-law enforcement and sheriff-treasurer was approved.
The commissioners moved on the the next item on the agenda, to confirm the probating the Last Will and Testament of Ruby Janet Graham, deceased and the appointment of William Edward Graham, Jr., Executor, as well as, to confirm probating the Last will and Testament of Linda L. Fitzwater and the appointment of Carroll L. Fitzwater, Administrator CTA, both were passed. The items to approve the appointment of Beverly King, Administratrix of the estate of Larry Allen King, the appointment of Robert Dale Graham, Jr., Administrator of the estate of Robert Dale Graham, deceased; the appointment of William Edward Graham, Jr., Administrator DBN of the estate of William Edward Graham, deceased, all were approved by the commissioners. There was then a motion to approve a request of waiver of final settlement for the estates of William Edmond Eagle and Ruth Gray, deceased, was passed.
The reappointment of Michael S. Taylor as a member of the Clay Roane Public Service District Board for a term expiring on October 1, 2021 was approved, along with Shayne Sams with approval. The commissioners approved to support the Clay County Housing Authority’s decision to hire RLJ Management Co., Inc. to manage Anderson Heights and High Street Apartments. Angela Gill was approved for hire as part-time, as needed E911 Dispatcher effective September 23, 2015. Her rate of pay will be $10.00 per hour without benefits. The motion to renew the YWCA Resolve Family Abuse Program’s office space lease was approved. The lease is effective for a period of one year from June 11, 2015 in the amount of $400 per month.
The next county commission meeting will be Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 10:00am in the county commission room in the courthouse.
