Clay County Commission held their first regularly scheduled meeting of 2017 on January 11.
After the minutes from the previous meeting, and the bills and purchase orders as presented were approved, the meeting continued with the action items.
A request of waiver of final settlement for the estates of Larry Deitz, John A. Sizemore, Clarence Eugene Runion, Glen Dale King and Paul Samples, deceased, were approved. A motion probating the last will and testament of Daniel Lee Hundley and the appointment of Susan Ruth Hundely, executrix, was approved. A motion probating the last will and testament of Rebecca Lurlene Doss and the appointment of Patty Mahan and Leslie Lively, co-executrixes, was approved. A motion probating the last will and testament of Thelma H. Hinton and the appointment of Robert Ricker, executor, was approved. A motion to approve the appointment of Jerry R. Brown, administrator of the estate of Connie Jean Brown, deceased, was approved.
The appointment of Wayne King and fiduciary commissioner for the estate of Arthur Holcomb due to claims filed against said estate, was approved. A request by Teresa Davis, assessor, to hire Catherine Michelle Morton at the rate of $10per hour, effective January 17, was approved. A motion to appoint Fran King to the board of directors of the Mid-Ohio Valley Workforce Investment Corporation for a term expiring December 31, 2017, was approved. A motion to appoint Fran King to the Clay County Parks and Recreation Board for an unexpired term ending July 1, 2018, was approved. A motion to appoint Fran King to the Clay County E911 advisory board for an unexpired term ending October 26, 2017, was approved. A motion to appoint Fran King as a county commissioner representative to the CAEZ board was approved.
A motion to appoint Donald J. Tripplett to the Clay County E911 advisory board for a term ending October 26, 2019, was approved. A motion to appoint Beverly King to the Clay County E911 advisory board for a term ending October 26, 2019, was approved. A motion to hire Andrea Litton as a part-time, as needed, E911 dispatcher effective January 11, 2017, was approved. Litton’s rate of pay will be $10 per hour, without benefits, pending successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
A motion to approve a resolution and order pertaining to the sale of water assets of Queen Shoals Public Service District to WV American Water and the dissolution of the Queen Shoals Public Service District was approved. A motion to adjourn the meeting until the next scheduled meeting on January 25 was approved.
