On Wednesday, Jan. 25, the Clay County Free Press erroneously reported that Craig Holcomb had been arrested for the murder of William Christopher Belknap in the headline of the story (“Man arrested on murder charges”) and in the body of story where he was identified as a “murder suspect.”
Holcomb has not been charged with murder, and the Clay County Free Press has been unable to confirm from a primary source that he is suspected of murder. As of press time, Holcomb remains lodged in the Central Regional Jail, charged with nighttime burglary and wanton endangerment.
