The Clay County Farmer’s Market is in full swing!  With the garden’s goodness quickly upon us, Clay County farmers are harvesting their goods to share with the public.  The Farmer’s Market is located in the courthouse square in Clay and is now conveniently open on Thursday afternoons from 1230-430pm.  The market is filled with fresh, local produce that is grown in Clay or adjacent counties.  This seasonal abundance offers residents a variety of fresh fruits and produce as well as homemade jams, jellies and preserves.  The Clay County Farmer’s Market, sponsored by the WVU Extension Office, gladly accepts SNAP benefit cards and senior produce vouchers.  If you are interested in participating in the Farmer’s Market or if you have any questions, contact Extension Agent Michael Shamblin at 304-587-4267.
