The Clay County Commission met in regular session on Thursday, May 25.
A motion was made to approve the minutes from the previous meeting; it was approved. A motion was made to approve the bills and purchase orders as presented, it was approved. A motion was made to approve the budget revisions for the following offices: county commission, county clerk operations, county jail, prosecuting attorney, sheriff, emergency services, assessor and circuit court.
A motion to confirm probating the last will and testament of Lawrence Denver Truman and the appointment of Michael Lawrence Truman, executor, was approved. A motion to confirm probating the last will and testament of N. Keith King and the appointment of Lorna Kaye Lakin, executrix, was approved. A motion to confirm probating the last will and testament and codicil of Virginia E. Boggs and the appointment of Edward R. Hardman, executor, was approved. A motion was approved for the appointment of Angela K. Kern, administratrix of the estate of Earnest Drake, deceased. A motion was approved for the appointment of Jimmy F. Miller, administrator of the estate of Billy C. Miller, deceased. A motion was approved for the appointment of Jeanetta G. Keen, administratrix of the estate of Larry G. Caudill. A motion was approved for the appointment of Wanda L. Hamrick, administratrix of the estate of Leroy Keith Hamrick, deceased. A motion was approved for the request of waiver of final settlement for the estate of Birdie D. Phillips and Amy Claire Nichols Wright, deceased.
In other business, a motion was approved for a workforce development board of the Mid-Ohio Valley Career Advantage Subsidized Work Experience Program Worksite Application. Also, a motion was approved to set a hearing to remove Deborah Zegeer as executrix for the estate of Billie Jane Zegeer, deceased. The hearing will be held on June 14, at 11 a.m.
A motion was approved to hire Leilani Tucker as part-time, as needed, dispatcher at the rate of $10 per hour without benefits. Employment is pending successfully completing a background check and drug screening.
