Clay County resident John Carroll is retiring from the West Virginia Air National Guard after 37 years and 10 months of service. “It has been an awesome journey, and there have been so many awesome people I have met and worked with over the years that I’m proud to call my brothers and sisters in arms,” said Mr. Carroll.
He said that he was blessed with the “best career and experience anyone could ask for.” He has traveled to places many could only dream of and worked alongside the best warriors in the business. He recalls the good memories of travels and meeting new friends.
A celebration of his retirement took place at the Heritage Room on Saturday, April 2. Thank you, Mr. Carroll, for your service to your country.
