The Clay County Board of Education held their regular scheduled meeting on Monday, November 13, 2017. A motion was made to approve the agenda, the minutes from the previous meeting, and the payment of current bills, which all were approved.
A motion to approve the transfer of Steve Litton from bus #73 to bus #60 was approved. A motion to approve the employment of Dwayne Walker as bus operator for bus #73 was approved. A motion to approve the employment of Harvey Church as assistant wrestling coach at CCHS was approved. A motion to approve the employment of Tiffany Norton as assistant girls basketball coach at CCMS was approved. A motion to approve the resignation of Rodney Aleshire as after school math/STEAM teacher at Lizemore Elementary, effective immediately, was approved. A motion to approve the resignation of Brandi McKinney as after school site coordinator at Big Otter Elementary was approved. A motion to approve the resignation of Stacy Marks as after school teacher at Big Otter Elementary was approved. A motion to approve the resignation of Karen Knopf as after school teacher at Big Otter Elementary was approved. A motion to approve the resignation of Pamela Douglas from after school teacher at Big Otter Elementary was approved. A motion to approve the resignation of Frank Allen an as assistant football coach at CCMS was approved. A motion to approve the retirement/resignation of Linda McKinney as teacher at Clay Elementary school was approved. A motion to approve the employment of Jeffery Krauklis as after school Math/STEAM teacher at Lizemore Elementary was approved. A motion to approve the transfer of Carlet Blake from teacher at Lizemore Elementary School to Multi-categorical resource room teacher at Big Otter Elementary was approved pending certification.
A motion to approve ALICE ( Alert, Lock down, Inform, Counter and Evacuate) as the prevention and response program for Clay County was approved. A motion to approve the reassignment of Jamie McDonough from resource art teacher at Clay Elementary to resource PE at Clay Elementary was approved. A motion to approve the transfer of Lora Brown from classroom teacher at Clay Elementary to Title I teacher at Clay Elementary was approved. A motion to approve Kasey Samples as a long-term substitute for the guidance counselor position at Clay Middle School was approved. A motion to approve Justin Holcomb as volunteer boys basketball coach at Clay High School was approved.
