A new public access had been opened in Clay, improving access to a popular section of the Elk River. Located adjacent to the Main Street Alive building at 292 Main Street in downtown Clay, the access is named Allie’s Landing in honor of Allie Moore, a young girl who loved to spend her time in the great outdoors enjoying whatever life had to offer. Main Street Alive, a non-profit Christian group, spearheaded the project and Mitch DeBoard volunteered his time and equipment to make the access become a reality. The access is still in need of gravel, but should be completed soon. The entrance can be used to launch boats, kayaks and canoes as well as serving as fishing access. The access at Allie’s Landing is open to the public for general use.
