Santa is pictured with Clay Oasis.

Clay County’s second annual Parade of Lights was a HUGE success this year! With an Elf on the Shelf, Frosty the (Mayor) Snowman, side by sides by the plenty, log trucks decorated with tons of inflatables, fire trucks and ambulances decorated as well, the parade is growing each year!

Lightening McQueen joined in on the parade fun as well. Santa was with Clay Oasis in the parade and generously gave out stuffed animals to the kids along the street! Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and generosity! Each year, there are random ‘judges’ picked throughout the audience along the streets and winners are chosen for best floats, decorated business float, along with businesses in town have the opportunity to enter their decorated windows for a chance to win. Money collected by each side by side entered into the parade and the businesses that want to decorate their windows to be judged, goes to a local charity, Marissa’s Closet, located at Clay County High School.

The winners this year for 2017 are Float awards: Directors choice: Vicki Ramsey & Josh Adkins; Best decorated business float: S&B trucking ( two years in a row!); Best Fundraiser entry (side by sides): Kings Cove Dance; Best Emergency Vehicle; Lizemore EMS (two years in a row); Best Decorated Business windows, Crazy Dazies & Nines Barber Shop.

Congratulations to all the winners. The parade was enjoyed by many! It will be happening again next year for 2018.
