More than $100,000 remains to be disbursed in 2013 SMART529 college savings matching grants, for either old or new plan enrollees.
“We certainly hope SMART529 account holders think seriously about this offer,” said State Treasurer John Perdue, chairman of the SMART529 board. “Provided an individual meets certain income guidelines, the plan will match up to $500 in investor contributions. Plenty of funds remain to be claimed with the requisite match.”

Treasurer Perdue said the approaching holiday season is a wonderful time to supply or help supply matching grants for friends and family.
