During the next few weeks, members of U.S. Senator Joe Manchin’s (D-WV) staff will visit various higher education institutions to speak with students who are interested in interning for Manchin.

“I want our interns to acquire new skills that will be useful to them in their future endeavors,” Manchin said. “Interning is a great opportunity for a young professional to gain the real life work experience, especially if the youth is interested in working for the government or in public service. Our main priority and responsibility is to help the people of West Virginia, I am confident that our interns will gain essential professional development, while also gaining knowledge of state and national current events. ”

Interested students who have a strong academic record, participate in school activities or community service and express an eagerness to learn more about the federal government are encouraged to apply. Senator Manchin’s internship program is geared toward those who have completed at least two years of college. Applicants should have strong writing and research skills, be familiar with Microsoft Office programs, expect to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate exceptional work ethic, and possess a desire to help the people of West Virginia.
