Let’s Get Ready To (Rural) Rumble: Route 33 Wrestling returns on May 9

After a successful March event, Route 33 Wrestling will continue its 2026 season on May 9 with another thrilling evening of live professional wrestling, right in your backyard.

Fans witnessed the debuts of “The DreamKiller” Jeff Gallagher and The Neon Enigma in March, as well as two major title changes: Grappling, Inc. won back their tag team championship after losing it to Gorgeous Morgan Taylor and Bomani in December, and in a major upset, “The Leviathan” Michael Anthony cashed in his Mountain Pass Medal to defeat Jeffrey John and The Mountain King to claim the Rt33W Open Weight Championship.

“While March didn’t exactly end the way I was hoping, I was delighted to see so many local families make it to the Armory for our last event,” said The Boss Lady, owner and director of Route 33 Wrestling. “We have a number of exciting matches planned for May 9th that we encourage everyone to come out and see.”

Opening the May 9th card will be the Rural Rumble Battle, an over-the-top rope multi-competitor elimination match. The last fighter standing in the ring will receive the Mountain Pass Medal, which can be cashed in at any time for a title shot of their choosing. This event will also see the debut of “Tha Villainess” Liberty L, who will challenge The Unwilting Tatiana for her Wild and Wonderful WV Championship, which the champion has held since last September.

But the main event is what has fans on the edge of their seats: WV’s own Mountain King will face “The Leviathan” Michael Anthony for another shot at the Rt33W Open Weight Championship, which he feels was snatched away from him in March. After numerous run-ins with each other over the past few years, as well as the grudge match between Anthony and the Boss Lady last December, anything is possible when these two go toe-to-toe.

Discount tickets to Rt33W LIVE on May 9 are available now at Route 33 Wrestling’s Facebook page, and at Groves Auto Service in Arnoldsburg. Supplies are limited. Full-price admission will also be available at the door on May 9th for $15 each. Doors open at 6 pm with a 7 pm bell-time. Kids 5 and under enter free.
