Mike Romano filed his candidacy papers on January 16, 2014 for West Virginia Senate 12th District. The 12th district covers Harrison, Braxton, Lewis, Clay, and a portion of Gilmer County in West Virginia.

Romano is a certified public accountant and lawyer. He has also served as an officer with the United States Securities & Exchange Commission. His experience on the SEC’s Fraud Task Force has helped uncover thousands of dollars in misspent public funds in Harrison County. Romano is also a member of numerous professional organizations and proudly serves on the North Central West Virginia Trade Development Association, Harrison County Democratic Party, Downtown Revitalization Committee and Harrison County Bar Association. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and law degree from West Virginia University.

Romano and his wife Amy live in Bridgeport with their two young children. Romano said “He was very proud of the work they have been able to do in Harrison County to lower tax rates and create jobs”. He is honored that the people and community leaders of the district have asked him to run for State Senate so he can take his experience to Charleston.
