The Elk River Fest was a big hit this weekend for residents of Clay County and visitors from all around. With fun competitions, including ‘Anything that floats but a boat’ race, the Jon Boat 500, and many more. Special events included a ribbon cutting celebration for the Buffalo Creek Recreational trail and for a new business, Axys Projects.  From music to vendors, there was something to interest everyone who attended. Cub Scout pack 194 had a booth set up selling walking sticks. Lightening McQueen made an appearance and joined in the parade. Smokey the Bear joined in the fun at the Elk River Fest and he rode through the parade with Lizemores Volunteer Fire Department. Solomon’s Secret had a nice exhibit set up and played the drums throughout the day. The kids really enjoyed listening and even getting to help play the drums. The Elk River Fest was fun for all and we can’t wait until next year!
