Assistant Superintendent Joan Haynie, Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent Tina Burnette, and Communities In Schools County Contact Michelle Samples proudly display coats that will be given to Clay County Schools students.

On Wednesday, Oct. 27, Clay County Schools received a special donation from the Normantown Historical Community Center located in Normantown, WV. Approximately 80 coats, ranging in sizes small through extra-large, were provided for the county’s students.

If purchased from retailer The Children’s Place, the coats would have cost approximately $5,640. Those students most in need of a warm coat will receive one free of charge from the Communities In Schools (CIS) Facilitator located at their school.

As the winter season approaches, Clay County Schools sincerely appreciates the generosity of the Normantown Historical Community Center.
