Clay Health Care Center Hosts Health Fair

Clay Health Care Center hosted a Health Fair on Friday, August 28, 2015. This fair wasn’t your average deep-fried funnel cake feast we all like to enjoy during festival season. The fair was heart healthy, rather than a heart attack on a plate covered in powdered sugar or other goodies.

Instead of having vendors set up at a festival, there were informational booths with Clay Health Care’s staff, Bowen Dentistry, Walmart Vision Center, and Clay Family Pharmacy explaining a different topic. Every stand had a healthy hand out or a free gift to go along with their display. They even had a $50 Walmart Gift card drawing.
Terri Lambert hosted a nutritional booth, where she spoke about the benefits of eating in a proportional manner and exercising daily. It was a true eye-opener to see the benefits and facts she had on her display. They also offered a free blood pressure and Accu-Chek test to monitor your blood glucose levels. Kim Brown, a member of Clay’s EMT, demonstrated the use of an ATP defibrillator and how to properly operate the device. Clay Health Care Center’s staff goes above and beyond to maintain a healthy community by informing you how to be a better you. 20150828_100112-1 20150828_100329
