Charleston Police Department Investigating Pedestrian Fatality

On Sept. 9th, 2015 at approximately 12:30 am a pedestrian was struck along Rt. 119 on the north bound side in the area of Smith Motor Company. The pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene without stopping. The pedestrian died of his injuries shortly after being transported to CAMC General Hospital. The victim’s name is Carl Epling, 42 years old, from St. Albans.
A passing motorist saw a vehicle exit Rt. 119 at Davis Creek Rd. that had its lights off. We are requesting that anyone with any information regarding this incident contact the Charleston Police Department, Traffic Division at 304-348-6470.
