Clay County Schools Board of Education President Dave Mullins presents CCHS student Alexis Blake with the first place award in the CAP logo contest.
The winning CAP logo, drawn by Alexis Blake, featured the mascots of all the schools in the county system (panther – Clay High and Clay Elementary; mustang – Clay Middle; Indian brave – Big Otter Elemetnary; pioneer – H.E. White Elementary; and lion – Lizemore Elementary).

Students in Mrs. Connie Kerr’s Art class at Clay County High School recently competed to design a logo for the Clay Afterschool Program (CAP).

From among the many creative drawings, four were chosen, and on Tuesday, November 28th, the four winning students were recognized for their efforts by Clay County Board of Education President Dave Mullins and Superintendent of Schools Joe Paxton.

The following prizes were awarded:

  • First Place – Alexis Blake – $25.00
  • Second Place – Caitlin Belt – $15.00
  • Third Place – Carly Osborne – $10.00
  • Brittany Smith – Honorable Mention – $5.00

Congratulations to the winning students and thank you to all the students who participated in the competition.  Thank you, especially, to CCHS business partners, whose generosity made awarding cash prizes possible.
