Board of Education Meeting

The Clay County School Board holds their meetings twice a month, on the second and fourth Mondays. This past Monday was the second meeting for the month of August. As always, the agenda and minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved. The transfer/reassignment of Tammy Dobbins Wolfe from Title I teacher to 1st grade teacher at H.E. White Elementary School as well as the transfer/reassignment of Tina Hall from kindergarten teacher to Title I teacher at H.E. White Elementary School were approved. Sherri Markle-Ramsey was approved for transfer from kindergarten teacher at Clay Elementary to kindergarten teacher at H.E. White Elementary. Her former position will be posted soon. Eva Hinkle and Sabrina Mullins Corwell were approved for the employment as a substitute teachers for the 2015-2016 school year.
Tera Ferrebee as was approved for employment as temporary custodian for Clay Elementary School. Matthew Sticker is the new assistant cross country coach at CCHS, Cathy Craddock is the new assistant volleyball coach at CCHS and Tammy Varney is the new assistant volleyball coach at CMS.
John Paul Rogers was approved to be the substitute bus operator for bus #60 as needed for the duration of a regular bus operator’s absence and Rene Moore was approved to be the substitute bus operator for bus #65. The board members also approved the transfer of three students from Nicholas County Schools. The next regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting is Monday, September 14, 2015.
