Is there an exciting or impressive historic preservation project happening in the Mountain State? Here is your chance to nominate the person, project, organization, or property you feel most deserves recognition.
Preservation Alliance of West Virginia is taking nominations for the 2017 West Virginia Historic Preservation Awards, which will be announced during the 9th Annual Historic Preservation Awards Banquet. This special awards ceremony will be on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at the Municipal Auditorium in Charleston and will feature a performance of Hank Williams’ tunes by Rob McNurlin and a keynote speech from Patrick Seymour of the Theatre Historical Society of America. All award winners receive free entry into the event.
Nomination award categories include significant achievements in preservation, heritage tourism, historic landscape preservation, community preservation, and others. A full list of award categories is listed on the nomination form.

The guidelines are:
- All nominations are due by July 31, 2017 (Monday).
- Submit a completed nomination form via email and send to info@pawv.org
- Submit at least 3 photos , larger than 1 MB in size, of the project nomination with your nomination form.
A special nominating committee consisting of Preservation Alliance board members and staff will select and notify the awardees, as well as the nominators of the nomination status. All are welcome to submit nominations and attend the banquet. Nominators can submit more than one nomination but must submit one nomination per award.
