The United Way of Central WV has established a WV Emergency Fund to assist persons who encountered lost wages or a reduction in work hours due to the recent water crisis. Beginning on January 27, the United Way began distribution of those funds to affected workers. To apply, you must visit www.unitedwaycwv.org to verify eligibility requirements and download the application. If you qualify, aid will be disbursed on a first come first served basis. If eligibility requirements are met, awards will be sent directly to a utility company of the applicant’s choosing. The deadline for application funding is anticipated to be February 21, 2014 depending on the availability of funds.
