The Panthers were on the road this week for their final regular season games playing a double header against Roane County. These games would set the teams up in the LKC tournament. The Panthers split the games with Roane County, and because of that, the way the LKC restructured the league, the Panthers ended up third in the league playing for 5th and 6th place instead of moving into a championship round at Ravenswood this past weekend. It was just a bad deal all the way around for the Panthers; each team in the Panther’s region had the same record but the Panthers, because of the way the LKC is now, were put in third place. It is difficult to cipher the technicalities of baseball now, but the boys will now move into the sectional games at Nicholas County on May 15th, and it will be game on. In the LKC Tournament played on Thursday at home, the Panthers were defeated 10- 15 by Ritchie. They didn’t get the bats going till late in the game, and couple that with morale being down because of the placement made it a tough game for sure. The Panthers stand a great chance in the sectional tournament to move on to bigger and better games, so come out and show your support.
