It was senior night for the Panther baseball team, and for eight players, it would be the last season they would play for the Panthers before moving on to bigger things. This night would prove to be a tough one to get a game played. Rain hit the field and decided to play a game of its own, and when it was done, it left the field in a mess. Not to be out done the players, coaches, and parents hit the field with the shop vac and bags and bags of field dry to get the field in shape to play the game. The field was finally ready, the rain was on its way out and the game was underway. Alex Taylor was the gun on the mound and pitched the whole game allowing only five runs. When the game ended, it was the Panthers on top by the score of 15-5. There were some big hitters in the game – Noah Taylor went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI’s. Colten Moore also went 4-5 with 2 RBI’s. Cooper Osborne was 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Jared Legg was 2-3, Sam Edwards was 3-3 with a double and an RBI. Zach Ahart was 2-3 with a double and an RBI. The Panthers will be in Sectional action this Tuesday night and have a great opportunity to go far in the tournament. They will host Hoover on Tuesday night, and a win here would give them some momentum going into the next round. If you get the opportunity, come out Tuesday night to watch the Panthers and their bid to become regional champs.
