The Panthers played pretty good baseball this week and split the four games they played. Nicholas County was on the firing line early in the week on one of the few days the sun was involved in. In their last meeting, the Panthers came out on top 5-4, but it was not to be this game. The Panthers were on Grizzly turf, and the Grizzlies came out swinging the bats and scoring runs. The Panthers got back on track and started to hit the ball consistently and eventually tied the game up at 6. At the bottom of the 7th inning, the Grizzlies were able to score a run and win the game by the score of 6-7. After that loss, which was a tough one, the Panthers dropped another one to Roane County – another good game that just didn’t go the Panther way. The final score was 1-2. With those games out of the way, it was time for some payback. Sherman came to town to hand the Panthers another loss on their season, but the Panthers had other ideas. Caleb Wynn shut the bats down for Sherman. Wynn pitched the full inning count allowing 5 runs. The bats also lit up for the Panthers with Jared Legg and Noah Taylor coming through with key hits in the game, final score 12-5 Panthers. It was on to Richwood and the Panther bats came on strong once again. Cooper Osborne shook off the bat demons and jacked his first home run this season in this game, final score 10-5 Panthers. The season is winding down for the Panthers with just a couple of regular games left before the LKC tournament and Sectionals start. Get out and catch a game before it is all over.
