The CCHS track team travelled once again to Roane County to compete in a Quad match up. The girls scored 68 points, and the boys scored 64, an all time high for the team since mustering the track team again four years ago. Most of the team members were in the ribbons from first to sixth places. High on the totem pole was Michael Rhodes, placing a personal high – second place in the shot put, and Jordan Lucas also placed second in the disc throw. The boys smoked the relay runs of 4×200, 4×400, and 4x8oo, placing second in each category. Dylan Holcomb placed third in the high jump, also a personal best. Isabelle Haverty smoked all the competition in the 3200 and took home the gold placing first, and she also placed second in the 1600 meter. The girls placed second overall in the 4×400 relay. Leah Cottrell placed second in the shot put as well. Congratulations to the team. They will participate in a track meet with a ton of competition at Poca High School on Tuesday evening. If you get the chance and you want to see some gutsy action, go and check the team out.
