Victor Ray McClain

Dixie – Victor Ray McClain, 87, of Dixie passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at his home.

He was a member of the Bell Creek Missionary Baptist Church, an employee at Union Carbide of Alloy for 34 years, and a member of the United States Army with service in World War II. Victor was also an avid hunter, liked to fish and enjoyed his truck and going to car shows.

Born May 12, 1926 in Nicut, he was the last living child of Randolph and Stella (Snodgrass) McClain.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant son, Kevin Dale McClain; grandson, Victor Shane Foster; son-in-law, Denny Foster; and eleven brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 66 Years, Dormal (Drake) McClain of Dixie; son, Stan McClain of Cannelton; daughter, Janice Foster of Dixie; grandchildren, Adam (Aksana) Foster, Kimberly Foster, Jeremy McClain, Trevor McClain and Brittan McClain; granddaughter-in-law, Laurie Foster; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Karl Foster, and expected in May, Alexis Marie Foster; and a host of other family and friends.

Services were held at 1 PM on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Bell Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Shane Wynn officiating. Burial followed at Elena Community Church Cemetery in Roane County.

Family received visitors on Friday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge.
