In March 2026, Clay County Ambulance placed a 2025 Ford Transit all-wheel-drive ambulance in service.
This unit is fully equipped as an Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance, featuring modern technology such as a LIFEPAK 15 cardiac monitor, LUCAS II automated CPR device, Kenwood VHF P25 and UHF communication systems, a Stryker Power-LOAD patient safety system, and Whelen high-visibility emergency lighting.
This ambulance was purchased with partial funding from the 2025 West Virginia Legislature’s EMS support allocation within the state budget. This funding would not have been possible without the support of Speaker Roger Hanshaw (Clay).
Clay County Ambulance Service was founded in 1975 and has proudly served Clay County and its citizens ever since.
