The CCMS Mustangs continue to light a fire on the football field with a landslide victory over Walton this past week.   The Mustangs, now 3-0, will travel to Glade on Thursday to try and continue their bid on getting the championship trophy back where it belongs.   It was a great game with the Mustang offense overwhelming the defense of Walton.   Defensively, the Mustangs look tough to beat; they repeatedly trespassed in the backfield of Walton and completely upset the push of the Walton offense.   Not enough can be said about Mustang offense – they seem to score at will.  With Walker James at the helm and a host of boys that can get the job done in the running and receiving department, they look to be on a roll.  If you get a chance, head to Glade and catch some good football action.  In other sports news, the CCHS Panthers were in a defensive war against Valley, and it was a great game.  The Panthers revenged last year’s loss to Valley and did it in style.  The Panthers are now 3-1 and will be on the road to play Nicholas County on Friday night.  It will be a tough game to win on the road, but with a win at their back, they will have the high ground.  The Lady Panther Volleyball team is back on track winning their last four matches before  going into the big Tri Match at the Civic Center on Wednesday night.  The Lady Mustangs opened their season at home this week with a disappointing loss to Summersville Middle School but hope to get the kinks worked out for a win in their next match. There will be plenty of sports to catch this week, so check your schedules and make your plans to cheer for the home team.
