The Lady Panthers have had a tough time, to say the least, trying to get a ball through the hoop this week dropping their three last games. Shooting has definitely been a struggle for the Ladies these last few games, and with Sectionals starting this Wednesday night at Hoover, they have to get their game back on if they expect to advance. The Lady Panthers are killer on defense, hold their opponents to low scores and have a great offense with the plays they run, but they have to get back to the net. The loss to Tolsia was hard to take considering that Tolsia has had a tough year and to be beat that close was a tough pill to swallow.

With Scott coming in on Friday, it was time to get the touch back. Friday night rolled around and Scott had their game face on, but before the game got underway they said farewell to Andrea Litton, the only senior on the squad. The game got underway and the Lady Panthers came out strong on defense, overwhelming visiting Scott and taking them completely off their game. However, once again the baskets just wouldn’t fall for the Lady Panthers, and they scored only two points in the first period. This allowed Scott to get a jump on the Lady Panthers.

Beginning in the second period, baskets started falling and the girls started their catch up game. It was another nail biter with a heart attack waiting in the box. They pulled within three points with 37 seconds on the clock in the 4th period. They tapped in two more points within that time frame but so did Scott. The final score was 46-50.

The Lady Panthers played hard for four periods in their final home game of the year and that’s all you can ask. The girls start their sectionals on Wednesday night at Hoover and need a win here to continue, so this should be a great one. Come out and see them in action.
