Sarah Schoolcraft digs deep for the save.

Nicholas County was the stop this past week for the Lady Panthers. Here the girls had their first taste of net time against a tough Lady Grizzly team. The JV team hit the floor first and didn’t waste any time proving why Lady Panthers are natural hunters, and their saber tooth like kills will be hard to get away from. Not only can they kill with speed and power, but there are also Lady Panthers that keep their prides’ back by fielding balls hit into the back field and by passing with the precision of a razor.
If you’re not sure what I just said, the Lady Panther volleyball team has some girls that can get in the air and knock a ball down on the other side of the net that one would think would knock a hole in the floor. The girls in the backfield dug in and there was hardly a ball got past them; they sacrificed their bodies to the floor to save the point.
The JV team took all three games from the Lady Grizzlies. Next up was the varsity girls who, once their nerves were calmed down, showed what they were truly made of winning the last game of the set determinedly. They will be equally as hard to handle as the JV team. If you like volleyball, don’t miss a game if you can keep from it. They begin their season against a tough Braxton team on September 4th at 6pm at home. Warm your lungs up readers, it’s time for volleyball.
