The FFA Greenhouse at Clay County High School is kicking off its annual greenhouse now that spring has arrived. Right now, there are over 10,000 plants growing in the green house with more to come. The Greenhouse will be open for business starting sales on April 25th, just in time to get those beautiful flowers for Mother’s Day. Hanging baskets will be $12, flats will be $16, 6 cell packs will be $2 and small pots of flowers will be $3. There will be vegetables available on April 25th as well including bell peppers, tomatoes and two different kinds of cabbage, with maybe more of a vegetable selection shipment coming soon. Students in the FFA do all of the work by planting the flowers, watering, feeding and caring for them as they grow. Last Thursday and Friday, the students planted around 5,000 plants alone. The hours of the Greenhouse will be Mondays – Fridays from 8a.m. – 4p.m. Stop by and see what kind of a selection they have to offer!
