The county commission meeting didn’t last long at its January 27, 2016 meeting. With discussions on the lease for the Clay County Park and the management concerns for the Clay County Housing Authority before the action items on the agenda were voted on.
To proceed with action items, a request to approve the appointment of Curtis West, Administrator of the estate of Ruby Olive West, deceased was approved. A request of waiver of final settlement for the estate of Violet M. Mullins, deceased was approved as well. The lease agreement between the Clay County Commission and Clay County Parks and Recreation Commission for the Clay County Park was approved with agreed upon changes. Those changes included but we’re not limited to the CCHS baseball team having first priority during baseball season, a 5 year review and utilities being divided between the County Commission and the Board of Education.
With the upcoming election in May, an “Emergency Absentee Voting Procedure” policy for Clay County during the May 10, 2016 Primary Election was approved. Eloise Boggs was approved for reappointment to the Clay County Landmark Commission for a term expiring February 1, 2021. The final action item on the agenda was to approve Resolution No. 8 authorizing payment of invoices relating to design, construction and other services for the Pack Fork and Independence Road water line extension project.
