Convicted sex offender Brian Adkins sentencing was delayed again. This time failure to make a psychologist appointment was the cause. Adkins lawyer stated in court that she was responsible for the failure to schedule.
Adkins has already pleaded guilty to sexual assault and faces up to 20 years in prison. The grandmother of the victim said the delays are just one aspect of the case that has been so frustrating. She complained the prosecutor’s office told her Adkins pleaded guilty to two counts when in fact he only admitted to the single offense of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian.
Adkins’ sentencing has been rescheduled for December.
