With the dust settling back to the earth and bats and balls stuffed back into the duffle bag, the 2018 baseball season comes to a close.  The Panthers played some great ball this spring going 14-7 on the regular season.

The boys played tough, and the fans were in full support as they played their way into the sectional tournament only to be defeated by Roane County and Hoover in the double elimination tournament.  The Panthers just couldn’t seem to get the fire back in their game that they have had all season in the tournament. They had defeated Roane in the regular season but critical mistakes cost them the game. Hoover brought in their trick bats and just out hit the Panthers. All in all, it was a good season with the Panthers putting one of the best teams they have ever had on the diamond. They were a treat to watch and my hat is off to the coaches and players.  We can sit back and ponder the season with the idea that there is always next year. I am sure the team will work hard in the off season and come back with a vengeance.

Spring will return and so will Panther baseball. The Panthers will be losing eight players who will be graduating and going on to bigger and better things. We wish them luck.
