The Mustang baseball team is definitely on a roll and on their way to a championship season.

This past week they took on a tough George Washington Middle school. The Mustangs sent Collin Cottrell to send the heat, and he did a great job of pitching. The Mustangs lit up the board first with two runs in the first inning on two hits and good legs running the bases. Collin’s English was full of adjectives, but due to some mistakes on the field, George Washington caught the Mustangs with two of their own by the second inning. The game stayed tight until the 6th inning when the Mustangs decided it was time to play baseball again and started knocking the threads out of the ball, scoring four runs in the inning, making the score 10-5.

That’s the way it stood; there was no fight left in George Washington, and the game ended with the score remaining 10- 5 Mustangs.  Brian Young was heads up on the base running, scoring four runs and stealing six bases.  Collin Cottrell was the big stick with four hits, and he also scored a run.  The Mustangs will take their show on the road with a four-game road schedule.  With the season nearing an end, get out and enjoy a good ball game.  Go Mustangs!
