The Mustang football team has had some tough breaks this season, and Wahama was standing in their way of putting a win on the books to cap regular season play. Unfortunately, in their matchup on Thursday evening, the Mustangs just couldn’t seem to get the job done and looked like they were done with football in the first half. Neither offense nor defense could stop the air or ground show of Wahama, and the White Falcons racked up the points to lead the first half 48-0. There were some highlights and individual efforts that made the Wahama team feel like they had been in a fight as the Mustang offense came out swinging in the third quarter.
In the end it was too little too late for the Mustangs, and they lost the game 50-16. It was a tough loss for 8th grade night as the efforts of nine 8th graders who put the Mustang uniform on for the last time were lauded. The Mustangs will play one last game on Thursday night at Spencer to determine 7th place in the conference.
