Joel Elliot fires the out from short stop.

By Allen Hamrick

The Mustang baseball team was home and on the road this week.  The boys have had a slow start this season as wins are hard to get.   Ravenswood blew into town to take on the Mustangs.   The Mustangs struggled against some good pitching, but in true Mustang fashion, the boys didn’t give up that easy.   The Mustangs held the score close enough to stay in the hunt, but the opportunities just didn’t come. In the end, it was Ravenswood over the Mustangs.

Luke Stewart bringing the heat.

The Mustangs took their show on the road after that to take on Valley in what would prove to be a Mustang salvation game.   The boys raised their bats from the dead and scattered hits all over the field, and when the smoke cleared, the boys picked up a much needed win defeating Valley by the score of 14-4.  It was a great game that shows that Mustang baseball never gives up and plays one hundred percent until the last out.  The boys will be back in action against Calhoun on Monday night at home, and on Tuesday night, they will be at Spencer.  Come on out for some good baseball action.
