The CCMS track team travelled to Roane County on Saturday to compete in the Sidney Boggs Memorial. Here, they met some of the toughest competition they will face this year. Ten teams from around the area competed, and the Mustang teams did a good job.
Both the Lady Mustang and Mustang teams placed 2nd overall. A standout for the girls once again was Natalie Tanner who placed 1st in both the 100 and 200 meter hurdles and topped it off with a 3rd place finish in the high jump. Marissa Atha placed 1st in the 3200 meter run, and Brooke Cliver was 3rd in the shot put. The relay teams had a good day placing 1st in the 4×200 and 3rd in the 4×400 meter. For the boys, it was Cole Boggs placing 1st in the 100 meter hurdles and Canaan Payton placed 2nd. Caleb Robinson was 3rd in the 100 meter dash and 2nd in the discus. On the relays, the 4×400 team placed 2nd, the 4×60 shuttle hurdle team placed 2nd and the 4×200 was second. Tyler Bird took 1st in the 200 meter hurdles and Jackson Stricker was 3rd. With just a few meets left, now is the time to come out and support the Mustangs.
