The Lady Panthers were on the road in Braxton County to take on the Lady Eagles in a volleyball matchup.

This game, like several others, is a great rival game and is always full of action. The Lady Panthers are led by their new coach Jaycee Markle with an assist from Annisa Collins. These Lady Panthers are a young team made up of mostly freshmen and sophomores.  None the less, they are a good team with a lot of potential.

They took the tough Lady Eagles to the fifth game and came up just short of the win. As the story goes in volleyball, a team can’t make too many mistakes or it will come back to bite you.  The Lady Panthers were down 0-7 in the final game after winning the third and fourth games, and it looked as though they would coast to a win. That wasn’t the case, however. The lady Panthers made some early mistakes in the game and were down. They did pick up the pace, started getting points on the board and brought the game to a score of 13-14. The final game only goes to 15 points so the Lady Panthers were against the wall. In the end, it was the Lady Eagles over the Lady Panthers, with Braxton winning three of the five games. The Lady Panthers will be back in action on September 12 at the Nicholas County tournament starting at 5PM and back at home against Doddridge County on Thursday night starting at 6 p.m.
