The CCHS Lady Panthers had one of those weeks that they wish they could have back.  Even though they were 3-2 this week, it’s not something that this group is used to.  They were on the road in Lewis County in a tri match with third ranked East Fairmont and Lewis County.  East Fairmont was up first, and they are a team that you just don’t make mistakes against, but neither are the Lady Panthers.  The game started much like anticipated, full on volleyball.  If you have a cardiac condition, it was not the place to be as the Lady Panthers squeezed by them and won the first game.  The smiles and laughs on the Lady Bee team were quickly wiped off.

The second game started, and it was like the Lady Panthers couldn’t be stopped, even going ahead by seven points at one time in the game.  However, it was like watching the air go slowly out of a balloon. You watch hoping it will stop, but you know the outcome.  The Lady Panthers’ war wagon lost its wheels and they was grabbing for what they could save.  In the end, it was the Lady Bees over the Lady Panthers in the second game and the last game.  Mistakes play a big factor in winning a volleyball game.  Next up was Lewis County, and they felt the full on wrath of the Lady Panthers.  The taste of losing was too bitter for them to swallow; they needed redemption and literally wiped the gym floor with the Lady Minutemen.  The Lady Panthers clicked on all cylinders and did everything right in that game.

It was on the road to Calhoun On Wednesday, and the Lady Panthers, still sore from the loss, were determined not to let the Lady Red Devils win.  It was no contest as the Lady Panthers took them down 25-7, 25-8, and 25-18.  The Lady Panthers were well prepared for the game and with precise blocking, killing, digging and serving, the Lady Panthers put an end to Calhoun’s offense and settled into the task of sending them packing.

The Lady Panthers travelled to Buffalo on Saturday for another shot at the AAA Lady Redskins of Hurricane and the Lady Bison of Buffalo.  This was also a tri match, and it was the best of three games.  Hurricane was up first, and at their last meeting, the Lady Panthers upset the Lady Redskins.  This time, however, it was all out game on and the gloves were off.  The Lady Panthers fought to the wire but couldn’t come up with the win.  Buffalo was up next, and the Lady Panthers once again took the loss out on the next team. The Lady Bison were annihilated.  Still not a bad week for the Lady Panthers as their season begins to wrap up.  Come out and support the team on their bid for the championship.  Good luck Lady Panthers!
