Alivia Gilliland gets it down in the back field.

By Allen Hamrick

The CCHS Lady Panthers hosted North Marion and Buffalo this past week.  They had a tough week last week and were not going to let that happen again.  The Lady Panthers were well prepared for the game and made very few mistakes which, in the game of volleyball, usually determine the fate of a team.  All the Lady Panthers looked as though their skills were set, oiled, and greased for the game against North Marion.  The ladies came out and went to work on the net, and when it was over, the North Marion team was sent to the loser round with Buffalo.  After Buffalo sent North Marion home on the bus, it was the Lady Panthers’ turn. There is some reason in the cosmos the Lady Panthers, although equal in every respect to Buffalo, can’t seem to shake the voodoo off the ball when it comes to a game with them.  The Lady Panthers went toe to toe taking the lead and losing it at the same time.  They just couldn’t seem to get the guillotine lined up to finish the game when it came to pulling the rope.  Buffalo once again took the

match and handed the Lady Panthers another loss.  They played well but just couldn’t get the break in the end.   The Lady Panthers then went on the road to Gilmer and, still tasting the bitterness of losing, went in set for a street fight.  It is just what they did beating Gilmer in three straight games.  The Lady Panthers will be at home against Midland Trail on Tuesday and will be on the road to once again lock horns with Buffalo on Saturday.  Go Lady Panthers!
