It was a good week of volleyball slapping action for the CCHS Lady Panther volleyball team. The team played at home early in the week against Doddridge County and South Harrison. First up was Doddridge, and the Lady Panthers wasted no time in taking care of business. They beat Doddridge 25-19, 25-16 in straight games. South Harrison was up next and the same outcome was fated to them as the Lady Panthers took them out of the game with two straight wins 25-9, and 25-22. The girls then took their show on the road to the Charleston Civic Center to take on some tough AAA competition. In the tournament they drew Capitol and Parkersburg who, during warm-ups, looked as if they were ready for the pro circuit. The Lady Panthers, however, did not let the excitement overwhelm them and got down to the business of kicking butt. First up to the slaughter was Capitol, who appeared ready to hold school but couldn’t handle the ever pressing ball handling of their opponents. No matter what they sent over the net, the Lady Panthers handed it back to them with some fire attached to it. The girls played like a well oiled machine defeating Capitol. Next up was Parkersburg who played well enough to beat the Lady Panthers; it wasn’t an easy task but the experience against one of the best AAA schools will only prove to make the Lady Panthers better. Come out and support them on their bid to become champs.pic3 pic1 front page pic
