The Mustang defense was hard on an inside run.

The CCMS Mustangs took a hit to the chin Thursday evening, and it was a loss tough to take. The Glade Bulldogs came into town with fire in their eyes, but the Mustangs, for most of the game, had the extinguisher. With some tough defense, the Mustangs held the Bulldogs offense to a few yards and caused a couple of turnovers. Isaac Workman caught a twin set of passes from Alex Grose to get the Mustangs in front of the Bulldogs by the score of 12-6. As usual, it is the team with the least amount of mistakes that will take the field. The Mustangs caved in on two offensive plays that tied the game at 12 all, but the Bulldogs attempted a two point conversion and made it. The Mustangs tried a march down the field but the pass attempts failed and time ran out on the Mustangs.
The Mustangs are a good team and well worth your time to watch. The Mustangs will be at Calhoun on October 10th; come on out and watch some good football action.
The CCHS Panthers were in action this week against a tough Nicholas County. This was the Panther’s homecoming game and would prove to be a tough one. As with all games, actually most games, calls by the referees will be questioned, coaches decisions will be questioned and no answers will or can be given. The fact is that problems continue to plague the Panthers as they fell to the Grizzlies by a score of 6-34 and are 1 and 4 for the season.
It has been a tough road for the Panthers this year in what was supposed to be one of their best seasons yet. Not sure what the answer is, but I hope the boys get back on track for the rest of the year. One of the highlights of the game was with Stephen Cole who had an interception which led to the only Panther touchdown.
Escorted by Tyler Stuart, Taylor Townley was crowned this year’s Homecoming Queen by Mrs. Issacs at halftime amid a cheering crowd. Let’s get back on track, Panthers, and win this season out.
