Elk River represents at Rough and Rowdy Brawl

Elk River Boxing Club and Elk River MMA competed in the 21st annual Rough and Rowdy Brawl in Charleston.

With a total of eight competitors in the competition, including one major title fight featuring amateur MMA, 2017 is getting off to a great start for this club.

William “Blake” Whittington, of Clendenin, took on Hasaan Hagler for the 185 lbs. Ruckus in the Cage Title, and won in the first round by strikes

to the head. The lightweight division of the Rough & Rowdy was the largest division this year, and Nathan Gill, of Clay, finished runner-up. Michael “Tyler” Harper, of Clendenin, dominated the middleweight division by knocking out every opponent in the first round until the championship fight where he was still named 2017 Rough & Rowdy Brawl Middleweight Champion by decision.

All other members of Elk River Boxing did extremely well and Coach Rob Fletcher looks forward to another great year of competition.
