Alright, all you middle school students that love to play music and want to be a part of the greatest middle school band around, the table is set for the 2023 CCMS Band rehearsals. Legendary master band director and trap set guru Doug Wayne will be holding these rehearsals and bringing his expertise to the minds of future leaders in music and song. If you’re interested in band at all, this is the place to be this summer and show off your talents. The CCMS band has a long tradition of being the best; other than a couple of hiccup years during the Covid-19 era, the CCMS band has buttered the ears of many family members and fans. They are a force on the football field with their wild, soul stirring music and drum beats that could turn even the meekest player into a Tasmanian devil. It is in your face music at every concert or venue they play – they are the CCMS Mustang band. Come and be a part of the best team with the best director; you will be glad you did.
Rehearsals are scheduled to begin July 24 and will carry on through July 27. These rehearsals are only for the students who will be in seventh or eighth grade band. Summer school buses will be running and school lunch will be provided. After lunch, participants will be given the opportunity to hit the pool for free for some much needed R and R.
The schedule is for breakfast to be served at 8 AM, and after filling your belly, rehearsals will begin at CCMS and last till 11 AM. At that point, students can have someone to pick them up at the school or ride the bus to Clay Elementary school for lunch then optional swimming at Clay County Pool. The activity bus will leave the pool at 2:30, and supervision will end for the day. Sounds like a good time for band students, for sure! Good food, good direction, food again and relaxing by the pool. If you are a 7th or 8th grade student and want to be a cog in the CCMS band, here is your opportunity. Go Mustangs!
