The CCHS track team took their act on the road this week opening the season at the Don Williams Memorial held at Roane County. It is a good place to work out the bugs in the pistons before the larger Invitationals. The boys took 2nd place over all, just nine points behind Roane County in 1st place. Individually, Seth Robinson took 4th in the 100 meter dash. Daymian Stricker was 4th in the 400 meter as well as 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles and was number one in the high jump. Sawyer Dobbins was 1st in the 3200 meter run and 2nd in the 1600 meter. Evan Bass was 2nd in the 110 meter hurdles and 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles. Takota Quinn was 3rd in the 110 meter hurdles and 3rd in the high jump. The boys took 2nd in the 4×200 relay and 3rd in the 4×800 relay, as well as 1st in the 4×110 meter shuttle hurdle relay. Elijah Holcomb took 3rd in the long jump and Jarod
Ferrebee took 1st in the discus throw and 2nd in the shot put.
The girls placed 2nd over all as a team and individually. Jayda Stricker took 3rd in the 400 meter dash and 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles. Olivia Witt took 3rd in the 1600 meter run and 2nd in the 3200 meter run as well as 2nd in the 100 meter hurdles. Cheyenne Taylor took 3rd in the 3200 meter run. The girls took 3rd in the 800 meter relay and 1st in the 4×102.5 Shuttle Hurdles. Xena Legg took 3rd in the shot put and 5th in the discus.
Both the Lady Panther and the Panther track teams are a force when they are at full strength, making them difficult to beat. In time, we will see if they can dog out another season and send even more to the states than last year. Go Panthers and Lady Panthers!
