On November 16, the Lady Panther cheer squad competed in the LKC cheer competition at Saint Mary’s High School. The girls proved they can compete with the best, and fans watched as hamstrings were being stretched to their limits with high flying kicks.  The tumbling acts on the freestyle routine were impressive.  Cheerleading is a tough sport – try spinning 360 degrees, flipping upside down, hitting a very hard gym floor with different parts of your body, bouncing up, and flipping your hair with a little attitude all with a smile on your face.  Follow that up by muscling a girl high in the air on a stunt, catching her after sending her airborne without dropping her on the floor and never losing your composure.  Do all this for five minutes to some wild rock tunes loud enough to readjust your hairline.  The CCHS cheer team does it well; it is impressive to watch in action. Cheerleaders are athletes who are every bit as tough as they come.  The team placed 3rd in the competition. .  Congratulations to the Lady Panther cheerleaders!
