L-R Isaac Workman, All-State Defensive Back. Ryan Burdette All-State Defensive End.

Panther football is in the news again as some of the finest players to grace the Panther field have been named to the WV All-State and LKC All-Conference teams. These boys worked hard and have been recognized for their accomplishments. Senior Ryan Burdette was named to the West Virginia AA 1st Team All-State football team as a defensive end.  Burdette was a three-year starter for CCHS, and his senior season was undoubtedly his best season as a Panther. Ryan led the CCHS team in the following categories: tackles, sacks, catches, receiving yards, tackles for loss, receiving touchdowns, fumble recoveries, and was tied with several for the team lead in touchdowns.  Ryan is still undecided on his future plans, and it remains to be seen if he will be playing football at the next level. There have been numerous college teams interested in recruiting Ryan to play for them.

Also being named to the West Virginia AA 1st Team All-State football team as a defensive back was Senior Isaac Workman. To the best of anyone’s knowledge, Isaac led the state in the interceptions.  He picked off eight passes during his Senior season at CCHS.  Isaac was also among the team leaders in rushing yards, receiving yards, catches, interceptions, returned intercepted passes for touchdowns, kickoff return yardage, punt return yardage, punt average, and was tied with several for the team lead in total touchdowns.  Isaac has also garnered the attention of numerous colleges, and it remains to be seen what future plans Isaac has in football.  Additional postseason honors include the LKC All-Conference teams.  Players named to the 1st Team LKC football team include: Senior DE/WR Ryan Burdette, Senior DB/WR/RB Isaac
