Buffalo Creek is stocked

Once again Buffalo Creek is home to several hundred pounds of trout thanks to the Buffalo Creek Watershed and the generous donations of business and caring people. Buffalo Creek is one of the finest streams in this state and now one can take in the scenic beauty and get to do some fishing in the process. The grand opening of the Buffalo Creek recreational trail will take place at the Elk River Fest on the Pisgah side of the bridge. Through the stocking program and the efforts of many the trail will be one of the premier places to take the family. Stocking the stream will assure an opportunity to save our natural instinct to be one with nature and have a place to get away from the pressures of everyday living, all you have to do is bait a hook and have some fun. It also has the chance to grow into world class fishing and a place for the community to grow through tourism. Thanks to all involved whose efforts and donations make this stocking possible.
