The Middle School Lady Mustangs began their season taking a hit from Geary school. It was clear the Lady Mustangs were a little rusty in this game accumulating a lot of errors. However, there were some great volleys and some moments where a fan could see that the Lady Mustangs have great potential and would not take defeat lightly. That has shown in their last two games. They took defeat, learned from it and proceeded to stiff the competition defeating Nicholas County and Calhoun. They play at home again on the 24th against Walton, game time 6 PM.
In other Volleyball news the CCHS Lady Panthers are on a roll winning 7 of their last eight meetings. They will be on tour Tuesday night against Calhoun County and will be in a shootout at the Civic Center in Charleston on Wednesday, and then back home Thursday against Roane County. Both Calhoun and Roane games begin at 6PM and are LKC games so you won’t want to miss them.
In football news a loss at the beginning of the season against Braxton has fueled the Mustang football team to bigger and better things. Quenching their thirst first on Richwood and most recently against Walton. They will be home against Glade this Thursday night at 6 pm. It would be nice for the Mustangs to bring back the championship trophy to the CCMS.
The CCHS Panthers fall to 1-3 on the season with a loss to single A Valley this past Friday night. Problems continue to plague the Panthers but hopefully the season will start going their way. They will play Nicholas County this Friday night. Let’s get this season back on track.
